Travel to Amboseli National Park at the base of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world at 5,895 meters. Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephant and is home to all the big cats (lion, leopard, and cheetah), giraffe and zebra, hyena and several varieties of plains game.
Visit Tarangire National Park and stay at Sanctuary Swala, a luxurious camp with large tents built on platforms under a canopy of umbrella acacia trees, overlooking the Gurusi floodplain. Tarangire wide panoramas of beautiful baobab-punctuated stretch in every direction, fed and nurtured by the Tarangire River and populated by an abundance of big game, including lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo, plus giraffe, zebra and numerous species of antelope. Its dusty red landscape also hosts a large bird population and lesser game through the groundwater forest.
Traveling overland across the Rift Valley towards the Ngorongoro Crater, stopping en route in the town of Mto Wa Mbu to experience its colorful, lively market. Arrive at Gibbs Farm, situated on the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, on the outermost side of the crater. Viewing in the Ngorongoro crater, a 609-metre caldera that is a natural amphitheater for an incredible concentration of wildlife including the highly endangered black rhino, and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Travel to Serengeti National Park, visit the Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites in the world, the place where the earliest hominid fossils, dating back 1.75 million years, were found by Louis and Mary Leakey in 1959. Serengeti has a vast savannah landscape dotted with rocky outcrops, much beloved by a lion.
